Platform Overview for District 29:
I believe the families of Parkland, Spanaway, Midland, Frederickson, and South Tacoma deserve leadership that invests in their stability, protects their dignity, and strengthens their voice.
natasha’s priorities for the 29th ld:
I. AFFORDABILITY
Lower the overall cost of living so working families can afford food, gas, housing, and healthcare.
Ensure unincorporated Pierce County receives equitable investments and services compared to incorporated areas.
Address resource deserts by improving access to grocery stores, pharmacies, healthcare, and other essential services.
II. Labor & Workers’ rights
Uphold and strengthen unionizing efforts and collective bargaining protections.
Improve workplace safety and protections.
Expand labor protections for vulnerable and underserved workers.
III. Protecting Immigrant Families & Strengthening Community Safety
Advocate for humane treatment and oversight of the detention center.
Increase transparency and accountability for facilities funded by taxpayer dollars.
Address homelessness, fentanyl, and drug-related violence through prevention, treatment, and housing resources.
Invest in neighborhood safety through neighborhood traffic calming measures, including roundabouts where appropriate.
IV. Infrastructure
Invest in transportation infrastructure so residents can better access grocery stores, healthcare providers, and other essential community services.
Improve sidewalks and pedestrian safety so residents can walk safely throughout their neighborhoods.
V. EDUCATION
Invest in equitable funding for schools in the 29th District.
Promote policies that improve student safety and long-term outcomes.
VI. Access to democracy
Expand civic education and increase awareness of democratic participation.
Increase voter turnout and civic engagement in the 29th Legislative District.
Reduce barriers to voting and make participation more accessible for all communities (Protecting mail-in voting, making documents more easily readable)
VI. Reproductive Justice
Protect Washington State’s reproductive freedom from federal efforts to restrict access to care.
Safeguard access to reproductive healthcare and gender-affirming care for all Washingtonians.
VII. Environmental justice
Expand equitable access to tree canopy and green spaces across the district.
Protect vulnerable communities from the impacts of climate change.
Invest in climate resilience for neighborhoods most affected by extreme heat, flooding, and poor air quality.
I see fear and uncertainty in our community and believe we can do better.
Together, we can build a district where safety, opportunity, and access aren’t privileges; they’re the standard.
